Description

A twist on a turkey club with sun-dried tomato and bacon mixed in the burger. Topped with melted Swiss cheese and fresh avocado.

Warning: May require dislocation of jaw to take a bite!

Ingredients

  • 5 slices Bacon
  • ¾ pounds Ground Turkey
  • 6 whole Sun-dried Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Grill Seasoning (I Like McCormick's Montreal Steak)
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 6 slices Sandwich Bread
  • 4 pieces Romaine Lettuce Hearts
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • ½ whole Ripe Avocado
  • 3 slices Swiss Cheese

Preparation

Begin by cooking the bacon in a frying pan over medium heat and setting it aside to cool.

Drain the bacon grease from the pan but don’t clean it; you will use it to cook the burgers and give them even more delicious bacon flavor!

Once the bacon is cool enough to handle, take one piece and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Cut the other four slices in half and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped bacon and the grill seasoning. Form into two patties no more than an inch thick.

Add the olive oil to the bacon pan and give it a good turn to coat the bottom of the pan and place the burgers in the skillet.

Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until burgers are cooked through, turning once.

While burgers are cooking, toast the bread, wash the lettuce and slice the tomato and avocado.

When the burgers near the end of their cook time, top with cheese (1 and 1/2 slices per patty) and cover the pan to help it melt quicker.

Assemble: bread, burger, avocado, bread, 4-half slices of bacon, tomato, lettuce and bread. Or any combination of your liking.

Good luck getting your mouth around it!
