Description

A very old and classic recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2  Bell Peppers
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1  Egg
  • ½ cups Minced Onion
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Condensed Tomato Soup

Preparation

Halve the peppers. Cut the tops off and seed them.

Mix the ground beef, egg, and minced onion thoroughly. Pack 1/4 of the mixture into each pepper half. Brown the pepper, meat side down, in a non-stick skillet. Once the meat is browned, flip the pepper over and brown the pepper side. When the pepper is nicely browned, pour the tomato soup over the peppers. Rinse out can with about 1/4 cup water, and pour over peppers. Cover the pan and simmer about 45 minutes, or until done.

Jana, I can’t wait to try these. I thought we were the only ones to use tomato soup on stuffed green peppers. (We make rice til done, mix w/ ground beef, stuff in peppers, put in baking dish, pour tomato soup over and bake). Your recipe won’t require us to heat the oven. A big deal now that we’re in record heat (115!) Thanks so much.

Made these for dinner last week – very simple to make and also very tasty. Served them to a friend who also enjoyed them. Quick and simple.

My friend served these last night for dinner, and I was surprised how good they were given the short ingredient list. I’ll definitely be making them for myself!

Really simple, and my hubby and son LOVeD them. I used ground turkey and organic tomato soup, and they were the best stuffed peppers I’ve ever had!

These stuffed green peppers were delicious. So simple to make, with only a few simple ingredients, but so flavorful and hearty. It made plenty of ‘gravy’ for the rice I made as a side (mashed potatoes would be great, too). My only regret was being out of garlic bread!
