Description

An easy wasabi-marinated tuna steak that is sure to impress. Adjustable kick by adjusting the amount of wasabi you add.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cups Honey
  • ¼ cups Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cups Wasabi Powder
  • 2 pounds Ahi Tuna Steaks
  • ½ cups Sesame Seeds

Preparation

Combine honey, soy sauce and wasabi. You can also use wasabi paste in place of the powder, just make sure you stir well. Use less wasabi for less of a kick.

Reserve half of the mixture for dipping sauce. Use other half to marinade the tuna steaks for one hour.

After marinading, coat the tuna in sesame seeds. Sear steaks on a very hot grill cooking only about 40 seconds per side. Remove and wrap in foil for five minutes.

Slice thin and serve with reserved dipping sauce.

This was excellent and super easy to make. I only had wasabi paste instead of the powder and halved the amount, which, for us, seemed about right. A keeper for sure!

The sesame seeds make this dish! Make sure your pan is good and hot before placing the meat on the pan and turn the meat with a fork and not a spatula as the seeds will come off on the spatula.

Fabulous dish.
