Description

Lasagna with a spicy garlic and bacon marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 8 ounces, weight Chopped Bacon
  • 1-¾ teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 6 cups Marinara Sauce
  • 32 ounces, weight Ricotta Cheese
  • 1-½ cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 4 whole Large Egg Yolks
  • 3 Tablespoons Chopped Parsley
  • 3 Tablespoons Fresh Chopped Basil
  • 1 box Lasagne Noodles
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add the bacon and saute until golden brown.

Add the red pepper flakes and the garlic and saute until tender.

Add the marinara sauce and bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring often.

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, Parmesan, egg yolks, basil, and parsley.

Layer sauce, noodles and cheese in a greased baking dish, repeat.

Top with Mozzarella cheese and bake 30 minutes until bubbly.
