Description

Tasty, vibrant, delicious, spicy beef lettuce wraps that will knock your socks off.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Breadcrumbs
  • 500 grams Minced Beef
  • 500 grams Minced Pork
  • 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil Or More As Needed
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 2 stalks Spring Onion, Sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Peeled And Finely Chopped
  • 30 grams Fresh Ginger, Peeled And Roughly Chopped
  • 4 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Soy Sauce, Or To Taste
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 bunch Coriander Stalks, Finely Chopped (Reserve Some Leaves For Garnish)
  • 1 bunch Baby Cos Lettuce
  • 1 whole Lime, Cut Into Wedges, To Serve

Preparation

Mix breadcrumbs, beef and pork together in a bowl.

Preheat a pan on high heat. Add oil, then minced meat mixture (add in 2 batches if pan gets overcrowded). Fry meat until meat has a nice brown colour (this should take about 3–5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper, then transfer onto kitchen paper.

Add more oil to the pan, then add spring onion. Fry for a bit, then add garlic and ginger. Fry a bit longer then add meat back to the pan.

Add hoisin sauce and coat the meat. Add soy sauce, cayenne pepper and coriander stalks. Stir through then turn heat off. Leave to cool slightly.

Make sure lettuce leaves have been washed and dried, then ley them out. Serve meat in lettuce leaves and garnish with extra spring onion and coriander. Serve with lime wedges and enjoy.
