Description

Easy, healthy and delicious! A win-win!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • ½ cups Chopped Red Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Ginger Root, Peeled And Grated
  • 1-½ pound Ground Turkey
  • 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sriracha
  • ½ cups Choppped Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 head Red Leaf Lettuce
  • ⅓ cups Chopped Peanuts

Preparation

Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Add onion and saute about 2 minutes, then add garlic and ginger root and saute another minute.

Add ground turkey to the frying pan and break apart, then add soy sauce and Sriracha. Cook until the turkey is brown and crumbling apart, and the sauce is slightly reduced, about 5 minutes.

While turkey cooks, wash and chop fresh cilantro. Remove the core end from the lettuce and separate the leaves. Chop peanuts and put in a small bowl to serve at the table.

When turkey is done, add chopped cilantro and cook 1–2 minutes more.

Place turkey mixture on a lettuce leaf, sprinkle with peanuts, and fold the leaf closed to make it easy to grab and eat.

Very quick and yummy! I added a little bit of sesame oil and a squirt of honey but no sriracha since it’s too spicy for me. But my husband added it to his and loved it.

Great quick dinner that everyone in my family loved! I used the leftovers cold in a salad the next day for lunch.

I love how easy this is. The other recipes I’ve seen are much more complicated. I also made a few modifications, added mushrooms and water chestnuts and a little rice wine vinegar. I also left out the peanuts because I didn’t have any and they were still delicious.

I have been looking for an easy lettuce wrap recipe for a long time and this one was both tasty and easy. I did add a few touchs of my own just to make it more for my family’s taste. I added some chopped up mushrooms and scallions to the turkey. I also added some rice wine vinegar, seasame oil and toasted sesame seeds. This recipe was fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
