Sweet, spicy and sticky. Great for dinner, an appetizer or a picnic.
Prep time estimation includes marinating time.
Yields 8 drumsticks. Double the marinade for more. You could also substitute drumettes if you are making them for an appetizer.
1. Combine marinade ingredients (all the ingredients except the chicken) in a small bowl and mix well.
2. Add the drum sticks to a large Ziploc bag. Pour the marinade over the top of the drumsticks.
3. Place the bag in the fridge for at least 1 hour. The longer the better. I marinated mine for about 3 hours. Every once in a while, shake the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken drumsticks to ensure they are well coated (I did this twice).
4. When ready to cook the chicken, preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
5. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil and spray lightly with cooking spray. Place chicken drumsticks on the foil. Discard the bag of marinade.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then turn the drumsticks. Bake for another 15-20 minutes, until the drumsticks are browned and starting to char slightly.
Pairs great with a crisp, fruity Gewurztraminer.

Angela – You could substitute any hot sauce in place of the garlic chili sauce.

I actually have EVERY ingredient, except for the chili sauce. Any suggestion for a substitution so that I can make this tonight?

Strongly recommend getting Reynolds Release aluminum foil. Nothing sticks to it. You could make this without the cooking oil spray.
Great recipe.
