Description

This is a great Italian sauce for anything pasta. We make a big pot so there are lots of leftovers, or you can make for a party or family get together.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 Tablespoon Sweet Basil
  • 1 Tablespoon Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoning Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 2 packages Italian Sausage Links
  • ½ cups Olive Oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic, Crushed
  • ¼ cups Onion, Chopped
  • 1 cup Red Wine Of Your Choice
  • 3 cans Large Tomato Puree
  • 3 cans Large Tomato Paste
  • 4 cans Water (use Tomato Puree Cans)
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sweet Basil
  • 2 pieces Bay Leaf

Preparation

Turn oven on to 350 degrees.

Mix the first 9 ingredients in a bowl and form meatballs.
Place meatballs and Italian sausage on a lightly oiled cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour, turn after 1/2 hour.

In a large sauce pan add the olive oil on medium heat. Add the 6 cloves of garlic and onion and lightly brown
Add the wine, tomato puree and tomato paste and stir. Now add the water and the rest of the spices and simmer. When meat is done, add meat and the juices to the sauce mixture. If it is too thick for you, you can add another can of water. Bring to a boil and turn down, cover with a little opening on the side and let simmer for 3 hours.

You should have plenty for leftovers!
