Description

Spaghetti with meat sauce … in a whole new way!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Spaghetti Noodles, Uncooked
  • ¼ pounds Bacon
  • 8 whole Mushrooms, Button-type, Sliced
  • ½ pounds Ground Beef
  • 28 ounces, weight Crushed Tomatoes
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cups Fresh Chopped Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Feta Cheese, Crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon Blue Cheese, Crumbled
  • Asiago, Parmesan, Or Romano Cheese, For Garnish

Preparation

Cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions for al-dente. When it’s done, drain it and set aside.

While the pasta is cooking, chop the bacon into 1 inch pieces, and cook them in a skillet over medium-high heat until half-way done.

Then add the mushrooms to the bacon. Continue to cook until the bacon is crisp and the mushrooms are softened. Remove mushrooms and bacon to a plate. You can remove some of the grease if you like.

In the same pan, over medium heat, brown the ground beef. When the beef is browned, add the mushrooms and bacon back into the pan, and mix well.

Add the canned tomatoes, salt and pepper, chopped basil, and the feta and blue cheeses. Stir well.

Turn the heat to low, and cook for 20 minutes (covered), stirring occasionally.

Serve the sauce over pasta, topped with grated cheese (Asiago, Parmesan or Romano).
