Description

My mom’s yummy spaghetti sauce. Simple and classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 can Crushed Tomatoes, 28 Oz. Can
  • 1 can Tomato Paste (12 Oz. Can)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 whole Bay Leaves
  • ½ teaspoons Salt To Taste
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper To Taste
  • 2 teaspoons Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ cups Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
  • 5 leaves Fresh Basil, Chiffonade (optional)
  • ¼ cups Parsley, Chopped (optional)

Preparation

In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, saute chopped onion and garlic in the olive oil until onion is tender. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, bay leaves, salt, pepper, oregano and Italian seasonings. Stir together and let it simmer on low, uncovered for 1 hour.

Serve over spaghetti noodles and top with parmesan cheese and fresh basil or parsley. Enjoy!

This is soooo delicious! I made this last night with PuppyChow’s meatball recipe. The meatballs were super delicious.
I browned the meatballs and put them in the sauce to finish cooking. So good I had a bowl for breakfast this morning instead of my oatmeal.
