Description

This is the recipe I requested from a friend and it became my favorite spaghetti sauce. It makes a LOT of sauce and it can be frozen or canned in sterlized Mason jars for later. You can use all ground beef for this, too.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MEAT MIXTURE:
  • ½ pounds Lean Ground Beef
  • ½ pounds Lean Ground Pork
  • ½ pounds Ground Veal
  • FOR THE VEGETABLE/SEASONING MIXTURE:
  • 1 cup Grated Carrots
  • 1 cup Chopped Celery
  • 1 cup Choped Onions
  • 1 cup Diced Leeks
  • 1 cup Diced Green Peppers
  • 1 bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 5 drops Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 leaf Bay
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 3 whole Small Hot Peppers Crushed
  • FOR THE SAUCE MIXTURE:
  • 2 cans Condensed Tomato Soup
  • 28 ounces, weight Canned Tomatoes
  • 2 cans Tomato Paste

Preparation

Sweat the vegetables in a little bit of olive oil (or any vegetable oil you prefer). Use a BIG Dutch oven or casserole pan for this.

In another pan, cook the ground meat mixture until done. Add the browned meat to the vegetables, as well as the rest of the vegetable/seasoning mixture. Mix well and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the sauce mixture and mix well.

Cook on VERY LOW HEAT for 3 hours.
