Description

Whenever I make this for parties, it is the first thing GONE!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Can) Rotel Dip, Mild Or Hot
  • 12 ounces, weight Cream Cheese

Preparation

1. Brown the sausage in a pan and drain. Put sausage back into the same pan.

2. Add cream cheese. You can use between 1 and 2 blocks, depending on how spicy you want it, how much you like creaminess, etc.

3. Drain Rotel Dip and mix in until all ingredients are melded together.

For a party, I throw the cooked sausage in my crock pot, with the cream cheese and Rotel and let it sit on HIGH for about 30 minutes (you do have to watch it, depending on your crock pot) and ALWAYS double it.

Serves best with Tostitos Scoops! Stand back after placing on table to avoid being tackled. ENJOY!

This was definitely easy to make and yummy, but I think it needs something. My boyfriend added Sriracha chili sauce to the mixture, and he seemed to like that. I, however, still think it needed more flavor. Maybe melting another type of cheese into the mix would work. This recipe is a good starting point, though!

My MIL and I loved the dip; my husband, however, not so much. He is a cream cheese fan, don’t get me wrong, but his exact comment was, “it is TOO cream cheesy.” I thought he would love it, so I was definitely caught off guard.

At any rate, I used the spiciest Rotel available and it was totally delish to me! Thick, but delicious.

okay, could not find the Mexican melting cheese to make queso fundido so I thought I would try this recipe. I modified it, by adding spicy chorizo and had to use 6 bricks of cream cheese to cool it enough for the lightweights that came to my party. It made an large crockpot. They were scraping it off the bottom when it was gone. How funny is that? Hit of the party. Thanks.

I have to admit I was skeptical that this dip would be “all that” since it only had 3 ingredients. Ummm I was WRONG, REALLY WRONG! :) I took this to work and people gobbled it up and stood in line outside my office for the recipe. A 3 ingredient crowd pleasing recipe? Yes please!!
It was delicious, thanks for making an addict out of me.
