Description

This great teriyaki chicken recipe is easy, tender, and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 6 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Soy Sauce
  • 4 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • 2 teaspoons Water
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 4 cups Cooked Rice, To Serve

Preparation

Place chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, and ginger. Pour over chicken. Cook on low for 4 hours.

When the chicken has finished cooking, remove the thighs to a cutting board and roughly cut into bite-sized pieces (the chicken will mostly fall apart, you just want to break it up a bit).

Pour the sauce from the slow cooker into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. In a small bowl, whisk together the water and cornstarch, then add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce. Let the sauce boil on medium-low for about 5-10 minutes, until it has reached desired consistency (I like my teriyaki sauce thick and syrup-like).

Pour the sauce back over the chopped chicken and mix to coat.

Serve over hot rice and enjoy!

This was real tasty. Everyone in the family liked it. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts. Will be making again soon. A new family favorite.

Delicious and so very easy. I cut the sugar down to 1/3 cup, and I think I’ll try garlic powder instead of garlic salt next time, but there will definitely be a “next time.” I also mixed thighs and breasts.

I liked this a lot! Made it with half thighs, half breasts (even though I usually like white meat better, I think thighs are probably best). Think next time I may throw in some veggies (broccoli or stir fry mix). Thanks for a great recipe! :)

I only used 4 chicken thighs and I skipped the part with cornstarch, and this was still so delicious–the chicken was falling off the bone and the sauce was so good. This is so easy, too. Thanks for the great recipe!
