Description

This is by far my favorite slow cooker recipe and a comfort food that I crave during the cold winter months. It’s delicious right out of the crock pot and the leftovers heat up great!

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Frozen Chicken Breast
  • 1 bottle Italian Dressing
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz.) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 14 ounces, fluid Chicken Broth
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning

Preparation

Put frozen chicken breasts in the bottom of a large crock pot and cover with Italian dressing. Cook on low for 8 hours.

In a separate bowl, mix together cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth and Italian seasoning until combined. I like to do this ahead of time so it’s ready to go when I get home.

When chicken is finished, drain remaining liquid and place chicken back in crock pot. Shred chicken with a fork. Cover with cream cheese/soup mixture and cook on high for 30minutes or until completely heated. If you are in a hurry, you can microwave the cream mixture before pouring it onto the chicken to save this extra step.

You can serve this dish over any kind of pasta (fettucini is great!) or rice (my personal fave). Enjoy!

I made this tonight and while it was good..I think I might have goofed on an ingredient! I won’t lie… I’m a beginner! The 1 tbsp of italian seasoning was overwhelming in mine. Should it be 1 tsp? Everyone else loved it so I’m sure I just goofed the recipe somewhere!

Very tasty! The chicken was so tender and the seasonings were very well balanced. You can also cook the chicken for about 5 hours on high without suffering any ill effects. Broccoli as a side dish is perfect!

It is the oil based Italian dressing…not the creamy. Enjoy!!

This was okay. I have seen other similar recipes that use the dry Italian dressing mix to cook the chicken, and I think that would be better. This dish could also use a little more “sauce”–the chicken to sauce ratio is very chicken-heavy.

I made this for the second time the other night and it was just as good as I remembered it being. It is comfort food to the max and the leftovers are just as good. I served it over egg noodles but rice or even mashed potatoes would be wonderful too. I love that you don’t have to have the chicken thawed out beforehand.
While it doesn’t look the greatest, kinda slop like, it tastes GREAT.
