Description

These sandwiches are the perfect no-muss, no-fuss meal for summertime!

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • ½ teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Hot Sauce (I Like Sriracha Or Anything With A Kick)
  • ½ cups Your Favorite BBQ Sauce (I Like Jack Daniel's Original No. 7)
  • 1 pinch Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 4 whole Hamburger Buns Or Dinner Rolls
  • 1 whole Large Avocado, Peeled, Pitted And Sliced
  • 4 teaspoons Prepared Horseradish Sauce (optional)

Preparation

1. Place chicken, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and BBQ sauce with a bit of salt and pepper in a small slow cooker and toss to coat the chicken on all sides. Put the lid on and cook on low for 6-10 hours.

2. When you’re ready to eat, turn off the slow cooker and shred the chicken with two forks. The chicken should be very soft and shred with little effort. Yay! That’s why we love slow cookers!

3. To assemble the sandwiches, put a scoop of chicken on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Top with a few slices of avocado and a teaspoon of horseradish.

We really like the sauce but the chicken ended up being dry even though there was plenty of sauce. Next time I think we’ll try half breast and half thigh meat for a little more fat, maybe that will help the meat stay moist.
