Description

The easiest applesauce ever made—and the tastiest!

Ingredients

  • ½ whole Lemon, Juiced
  • ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Apple Cider
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 8 whole Large Apples, I Used Honey Crisp And Fuji

Preparation

Peel the apples and cut into 8 wedges (or use the very handy apple slicer!).

Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to coat the apples thoroughly. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 hours or until the apples are soft.

When the apples have cooked, remove the lid and mash with a potato masher or fork until all the large chunks are broken up. Alternatively, you can use an immersion blender if you like your applesauce pureed.

Transfer the applesauce to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. The applesauce can also be frozen in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

I just made this and I have a lot of extra juice. Should I strain it? Other than that it smells amazing can’t wait to serve it!
