Description

A family favorite. So tender, they fall off the bone. Works with any kind of ribs and cooks in the oven or crock pot.

Ingredients

  • Pork Ribs - Slab Or Country-Style
  • 1 cup White Vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 cups Ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Prepared Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar, Packed

Preparation

If desired, brown ribs on stove. Mix remaining ingredients together. Place ribs in a large baking pan and pour sauce over them. Cover with foil and bake at 325F for 3 hours. Remove foil during last hour, turn ribs over, and baste.

To cook in a crock pot, simply pour sauce over ribs and cook on low for 8 hours.

The recipe is easy to follow and makes the house smell good as it simmered all day in the crock pot. The sauce is quite tangy from the vinegar. I used country style pork and found that the meat didn’t become as tender as I had hoped. I shredded the meat and stirred in bottled BBQ sauce in order to have BBQ pork sandwiches with leftovers.
