Description

The classic flavors of Chicken Parm, Sloppy Joe style!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Chicken
  • ¼ cups Onion, Diced
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • ¼ cups Red Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 15 ounces, fluid Crushed Tomatoes
  • ¼ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, Plus More To Sprinkle On Biscuits
  • 3 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, Plus More To Sprinkle On Biscuits
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 16-⅓ ounces, weight Can Refrigerated Biscuits, Each Piece Of Dough Split In Half Horizontally
  • 8 slices Provolone Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Jarred, Minced Garlic, To Sprinkle On Biscuits
  • Olive Oil, For Brushing On The Biscuits Before Baking

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.

2. Over medium heat, heat a skillet that you’ve coated with cooking spray. Add chicken and brown it. Once chicken is mostly browned, add onions, fresh minced garlic and bell pepper.

3. When chicken is cooked through and veggies are softened, add tomatoes, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to skillet. Cook until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste then remove it from the heat.

4. Coat a 13×9 Pyrex baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange the bottom half of the biscuits in the dish. Spoon chicken on top of each biscuit half. Top each with provolone slices and the top half of the biscuits.

5. Brush each biscuit top with olive oil. Sprinkle each top with more Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese and additional jarred minced garlic.

6. Bake for 25 minutes.
