A very easy quick and good sauce for spaghetti or any pasta dish. I use it in my lasagna recipe.
In a large skillet heat the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and saute over medium heat until the onions become very soft, about 5 minutes. Raise heat to high and add the ground beef. Saute, stirring frequently and breaking up any large lumps and cook until meat is no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, diced Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and bay leaves; simmer over low heat until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 1/2 an hour.
This sauce is great with your favorite pasta or make it and use it in your lasagna!
