Description

Easy and delicious shrimp etouffee’. Everyone raves about this dish and it’s the most requested recipe I’ve ever made.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter (salted Or Unsalted)
  • 1 bunch Green Onions, Chopped
  • 1 pound Shrimp - Raw, Peeled, & Deveined
  • 2 Tablespoons Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 cans Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can Rotel
  • Cooked Rice

Preparation

In a sauce pan or skillet, saute the chopped green onions in the butter over medium heat for a few minutes until tender.

Add the raw shrimp and Cajun seasoning (I use Luzianne brand) and cook until the shrimp is no longer transparent then add the Cream of Mushroom soup and Rotel. (depending on how hot/spicy you like your food, you can use mild, medium, or hot)

Cook over low heat for a a short time, just until everything is heated through and the flavors have had a chance to “marry.”

Serve this over cooked white rice along with a nice salad and some crusty garlic bread and you’ve got a fabulous meal!

This was so good! I had frozen okra from our garden and left over cajun grilled corn that I added to the recipe. It was fast easy and delicious. I’ll definitely make it again.

I blogged about it here with pictures: http://lesleyraes.blogspot.com/2010/09/shrimp-etouffegumbo.html

Much easier than traditional etouffee and tastes great! It’s definitely going into our rotating recipes. A word of caution: be sure to check the salt content in the cajun seasoning. I used what I had on hand (Tony Chacheres’s) and it was too salty. I’ll probably also try it with only a half a stick of butter next time.
