Description

Shrimpie, shrimpie in the sea
how I love to nibble on thee.
Fishermen drop their nets for you
haul you into shore real soon.
Buy you, buy you by the pound
fresh you’re best I have found.
Boil you, fry you in a pot
eat you cold, or eat you hot.
Cocktail, po-boy, sauce piquant
we’ll eat you up- til you’re all gone.
Shrimpie, shrimpie in the sea
O’ how I love to nibble on thee.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Peeled Shrimp Or 1 Package Frozen Tony Chachere's Shrimp Thawed
  • ¼ cups Chopped Green Onions
  • 1 container (6 Oz. Container) Sliced Fresh Mushrooms
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Creole Seasoning
  • 2 packages (4.5 Oz. Package) Lipton Alfredo Noodles
  • 2-¼ cups Water
  • 1 cup Milk

Preparation

In a saute pan, saute mushrooms in butter for about 5 minutes. Add shrimp and green onions; continue to cook till shrimp are done. Remove from heat, add garlic powder and creole seasoning.

In a sauce pan, bring water, milk and contents of Lipton Alfredo Noodle packets to boil. Stir in the shrimp and mushroom mixture and simmer uncovered til pasta is tender (about 4-5 minutes). Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 5 minutes so sauce will thicken.

Serve with salad, a steamed veggie and garlic bread. After dinner, let me know how much is left over.

In a hurry? You can thaw frozen shrimp quickly by placing them in a colander under running cold water. You can also use canned mushrooms. You can also substitute shrimp for crawfish tails.
