Description

A super yummy traditional Italian meal of pasta, sausage and broccoli rabe … with maaaybe a hint of bacon!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Pasta Of Your Choice
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Divided Use
  • 5 Tablespoons Olive Oil, Divided
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1 bunch Chopped Broccoli Rabe
  • 3 pounds Sweet Italian Sausage
  • 4 Tablespoons White Wine
  • 1 teaspoon Salt/Pepper For Seasoning
  • 2 slices Bacon

Preparation

Cook pasta according to package instructions. When done drain off the water and keep the pasta in the pot. Pour in a little bit of olive oil or butter to prevent from sticking.

Heat up a skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons olive oil. When oil is hot, add your minced garlic and cook for 30-40 seconds. Add your broccoli rabe and stir to coat it with the oil. Broccoli rabe will shrink, but cook it for 5-7 minutes. Set aside.

Heat up another skillet over medium heat with another 2 tablespoons of olive oil. While your oil heats, take your sausage out of the casing and crumble it. Add your crumbled sausage to the oil and break it up more with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook until browned, about 10 minutes. If sausage starts to stick to the skillet, add in some white wine to deglaze the pan. Add some seasonings of your choice such as salt and pepper.

Cook your bacon in an additional skillet over medium heat. Once it’s crispy remove it from the skillet and then chop it up into pieces.

When sausage is done, add in your bacon, then your broccoli rabe mixture and mix it all up. Add this mixture to your cooked pasta and top with some extra butter, salt and pepper.

Enjoy!
