Description

The trifecta of cooking the best baby back ribs ever, with this recipe you rub, roast, and grill pork ribs to perfection! Fall-off-the-bone deliciousness, this BBQ ribs recipe delivers all the sticky goodness of ribs on the grill, but with less time standing over the hot grill to babysit them. Rubbed and marinated overnight in the refrigerator, roast the ribs in the oven first and finish them on the grill.

Ingredients

  • 1 rack (2 1/2 To 3 Lb. Size) Pork Baby Back Ribs
  • ½ cups Dry Rub (See 12-ingredient Dry Rub Recipe In My TK Recipe Box)
  • ½ cups Water
  • 1 cup Your Favorite Barbecue Sauce, Divided (for A Homemade Recipe, See My TK Recipe Box)

Preparation

Rub ribs, front and back, with dry spice rub. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil. Place in refrigerator to marinate overnight (or at least 2 hours).

The next day, preheat oven to 350ºF. Take ribs out of the refrigerator and unwrap, discarding all wrapping material. Tear off enough aluminum foil from your roll of heavy-duty aluminum foil to cover ribs and make a tent (see blog post for photo). Press 3-sides of aluminum foil ends together to seal ribs, but leave a 2- to 3-inch airspace over the top of the ribs so that the aluminum foil does not touch the top of the ribs.

Place ribs in a roasting pan and add 1/2 cup water inside the aluminum pouch. Seal remaining 4th side of aluminum foil. Place ribs in preheated oven and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from oven and carefully remove ribs from foil packet (use long-handled tongs to prevent steam burns). Place on baking sheet or large platter and transport to your outdoor grill.

Place on preheated (medium heat or 325ºF to 350ºF) grill and slather with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce. Close grill lid and grill 20–30 minutes. Remove from grill and serve with remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
