Description

This Southern classic made in the crockpot tastes just like you have been slaving away over a bubbling cauldron all day! Made with smoked turkey sausage for a lighter version.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Dry Kidney Beans, Rinsed And Sorted
  • 6 cups Water
  • 5 cubes Regular Bouillon Cubes
  • ½ pounds Smoked Turkey Sausage
  • 1  Medium Onion, Diced
  • 5 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 teaspoons Tony Chachere’s Or Creole Seasoning
  • ¾ teaspoons Cumin
  • ¾ teaspoons Corriander
  • ½ teaspoons Oregano
  • ½ teaspoons Smoked Paprika
  • 4 cups Cooked Rice

Preparation

Combine all ingredients (except the rice) in the bowl of your crockpot. Cook on high for 6 hours.

Once beans are tender, mash about half of them in the crockpot. This helps give the beans that starchy sauce! Finish cooking time.

Serve over rice. Enjoy!
