Description

Italian comfort food—Ragú alla Bolognese is the perfect meal for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1  Onion, Diced
  • 1 stalk Celery, Diced
  • 1  Carrot, Diced
  • 1 clove Garlic, Diced
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • ½ cups Dry White Wine
  • ½ cups Water (double This Amount If You Are Not Using The ½ Cup Of Wine)
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium-low heat and add the onion. Cook over medium-low heat until onion is just starting to turn brown. Add the celery and carrot and cover the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally until just starting to brown. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Turn up the heat to medium and add ground beef. Cook until meat is browned. Stir in the tomato paste and cook an additional minute. Stir in white wine and water, and season with salt and pepper.
Turn the heat to low and cover and cook for 1 ½ hours. Add additional water ½ cup at a time if the sauce seems to be drying out. Meat should be covered with sauce.

Serve over tagliatelle. ¡Que aproveche!
