Description

Quick and easy healthified taco pie with homemade taco seasoning: easy Mexican night dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey Breast (or Beef)
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoons Oregano
  • ½ teaspoons Paprika
  • 1-½ teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 can (10 To 14 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes And Green Chilies
  • 8 ounces, fluid Plain Greek Yogurt (or Light Sour Cream)
  • 8 ounces, fluid Mexican Cheese Blend
  • ½ cups Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips, Crushed

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.

2. Lay crescent roll dough flat on bottom and up sides of 9×9 baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.

3. While dough is baking, brown meat in a large skillet on stove on medium high heat.

4. Mix spices together in small dish.

5. When meat is brown, add spice mix to meat and add 3/4 cup water, along with canned diced tomatoes and green chilies. Turn heat to low and let simmer for 8-10 minutes.

6. After it simmers, turn heat off and add yogurt or sour cream and stir until incorporated.

7. When dough is done (do not let it get too brown as it will cook more later), remove from oven and place meat mixture on top of dough.

8. Top with Mexican cheese blend and then with nacho cheese tortilla chips.

9. Bake at 350ºF for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and dough is browned.
