Description

Easy pasta with meatballs made with sausage meat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Mild Italian Sausage Meat
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 16 ounces, fluid Jar Of Marinara Sauce
  • ½ cups Water
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1 package Penne, 1 Pound Package
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan

Preparation

Put a large pot of water on to boil for your pasta.

Form your sausage meat into 8 meatballs of the same size. Heat a large pan or pot over medium high heat and add the olive oil. Once the olive oil is hot, cook the meatballs about 3-4 minutes per side until nice and brown on all sides. Remove them from the pan to a plate that you’ve lined with paper towels—to drain excess oil.

When the pasta water comes to a boil, add pasta. Prepare your pasta according to the package directions. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and set aside.

With the meatball pan still on the heat, saute the onion and garlic until soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the jarred sauce along with the water. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Once simmering, add the meatballs back to the pan, reduce heat to medium low and cover the pan. Cook for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.

When the meatballs are done, serve the meatballs and sauce over the penne. Top with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

very good. I used homemade spaghetti sauce (canned last summer!)–everyone liked it.
