Description

Delicious, tangy pulled pork for a salad or sandwich. Perfect for your picnic or barbeque by the pool. Throw it in your crock pot and let it cook all day. It’s so easy.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Pork Roast (with Little Fat)
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Onion, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
  • 2 cups Barbeque Sauce - Or More To Taste
  • 8 whole Kaiser Rolls Or Hamburger Buns, Toasted, To Serve (optional)

Preparation

Salt and pepper pork roast liberally. Pour vegetable oil in a Dutch oven and allow to get hot. Add pork roast to the hot pan and sear on all sides. Add onions and garlic until soft and transparent, about 5 minutes.

Remove pork and place in crock pot (scoop onions and garlic out of the pan and into the crock pot). Cover with water and liquid smoke. Let cook on high for 6 to 8 hours. When pork can be shredded easily, remove water from the crock pot and discard. Shred pork by cutting or using two forks and remove any fat as needed. Place pork back into the crock pot and add barbeque sauce. Mix well.

Keep crock pot on warm until ready to serve. Serve alone or on a toasted kaiser roll.
