Description

My grandmother has been making this for us for YEARS!! It’s a simple one dish recipe to feed a family. The men LOVE it around our house cuz it’s “meat and taters”!!!

Ingredients

  • 6 whole Pork Chops
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 can (10 3/4 Oz Can) Cream Of Celery Soup
  • ½ cups Milk
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 24 ounces, weight Hash Browns, Thawed
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese
  • 1 cup French Fried Onions

Preparation

Brown chops in vegetable oil, salt them and set aside.

Combine soup, milk, sour cream, pepper, and 1/4 tsp. salt in a large mixing bowl.

Stir in potatoes, 1/2 cup cheese, and 1/2 cup French fried onions.

Spoon mixture into 9 x 13 dish, and arrange chops over the mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Top with remaining cheese and onions. Bake uncovered for 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve hot!!

Serves around 6 ( or if your men are like mine, maybe less)

I have made this twice, and a third batch is in the oven right now. This is a hit with the hubby & 2 kids. Thanks for sharing!

My family enjoyed this, and I will make it again. I used thick chops because that is what I had on hand. Next time though, I will use thinner. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

I made this for the first time last week. It was wonderful! My boyfriend (Mr. Picky) enjoyed it so much that he didn’t complain when we ate leftover later in the week! We used cheddar fried onions (because we had them) and it was yummy!

I have made this before and it ROCKS!!! I prefer the french fried onions, although you can go without them if hubby/kids turn their nose up…but I love it!!! You will not go wrong with this recipe.
