Description

Casserole dish with a delicious sour cream/cream cheese sauce layered with marinara and pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Meat
  • 1 Large Chopped Sweet Onion
  • 3-5 Garlic Cloves, Chopped
  • 2 jars Spaghetti Sauce
  • 16 ounces, weight Mushrooms
  • 1 package Egg Noodles
  • 1 cup Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 16 ounces, fluid Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 16 ounces, fluid Sour Cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350

Brown ground meat. Add onion and garlic and saute a few minutes, until onions are translucent. Add spaghetti sauce and mushrooms and simmer on low until noodles are ready. Cook egg noodles until just before al dente. You’ll be baking this in a casserole, so the noodles need to still be a bit firm.

Combine cream cheese, sour cream and parsley flakes until mostly smooth. A few small lumps of cream cheese are ok.

Set out a 9×13 casserole dish. Spoon half of the noodles into the dish, then half of the meat sauce. Spread half of the cream cheese sauce over the meat sauce. Cover with remaining noodles, then remaining sauce. Drop remaining cream cheese sauce in dollops on top of the meat sauce.

Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic powder, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Serve with garlic bread.

I love the way you make the layers of flavor. the combination of the spaghetti sauce and the cream cheese sauce sounds great.

I’ve made something similar to this called Beef Lombardi from Southern Living…but it doesn’t call for cream cheese! OH MY! I have to try this your way!
