Description

Marinara sauce with ground beef, noodles and cheese. Makes two 9 x 13 casseroles. Freeze one for later or bake both: one for your family and one to take to a friend in need .

Ingredients

  • 2-½ pounds Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 2 cups Chopped Celery Ribs With Leaves
  • 2 cups Chopped Onions
  • 1-½ cup Grated Carrots
  • 1 can Diced Or Crushed Tomatoes 14.5 Oz
  • 1 can Diced Or Crushed Tomatoes 28oz
  • 2 Tablespoons Salt
  • 1-½ teaspoon Crushed Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 pounds Noodles
  • 1 package (16 Oz. Size) Frozen Chopped Spinach, Thawed And Squeezed Dry
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese

Preparation

Brown ground beef in oil about 5 minutes.

Add onion, celery, and carrot cook another 5 minutes.

Stir in tomatoes and seasoning.

Bring to a boil; lower heat and cover; simmer 30 minutes.

Meanwhile cook pasta to al dente, drain and set aside.

When sauce is done stir in cooked pasta and the thawed, drained spinach. Mix thoroughly.

Put into two 13 x 9 x 2 inch casseroles; sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese on top of each casserole.

Bake both in a moderate oven (350) 30 minutes or until bubbly. (Or bake one and freeze one.)
