Description

This is the best lasagna I’ve ever eaten. Totally better than any restaurant’s.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ pound Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Onion
  • 1 can Peeled Tomatoes (28 Oz.)
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (12 Oz.)
  • 1 can Tomato Paste, 6 Oz
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups Grated Mozzarella Cheese, divided
  • 1 container Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup Cooked Spinach
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 9 whole Lasagna Noodles, Cooked
  • 1 dash Pepper

Preparation

Sauce:
Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet until beef is done. Add all the tomatoes, oregano, basil, and salt. Mix well.

Cheese mixture:
Combine 2 cups mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, egg, and pepper. Mix well.

Assembly:
Spread enough sauce in bottom of a 9×13 pan to cover well.
Layer lasagna as follows:
3 noodles
1/2 cheese mixture
Layer of sauce
Repeat layering sequence and add another 3 noodles after last layer of sauce. Top with 1 cup mozzarella cheese.

Seal pan tightly with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Let set 10-15 minutes before serving.

Really LOVED this lasagna, as did my whole family (even my daughter who doesn’t like lasagna). I did double the mozzarella cheese, I love my lasagna cheesy. One suggestion, the recipe calls for “1 container” of Ricotta Cheese. I think you should specify the size of the container. We almost put 2lbs of Ricotta because that’s how big the container we had was and my daughter was handling the cheese mixture. I caught it before it was too late and took half of that out so we used 16 ozs.
