Description

This tofu is happy because miso is it’s best friend. This is a great, easy to make glaze for tofu, that is slightly salty (because of the tofu) but oh so sweet (agave). I like to grill this up, and eat it on top of mashed potatoes, but as tofu always does, it would go great as a main ‘meat’ to any side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Tofu, Sliced Into 6 Cutlets, And Squeezed Of Excess Water, 6-8 Ounce Package
  • ¼ cups Miso
  • ⅓ cups Seasoned Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Tamari
  • 2 Tablespoons Agave Nectar
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger, Minced
  • ¼ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper

Preparation

Whisk together everything except for the tofu – this will be your glaze. Place tofu cutlets (6-8) in a glass baking dish, and pour glaze over-top, turning tofu to coat. Allow tofu to marinate for at least 3 hours.

You can either saute the cutlets (4 minutes per side over medium heat), grill over medium heat (4 minutes per side), or broil them in the oven for 8 minutes, per side. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or on its own. Enjoy!
