Description

My favorite panini from our local bakery. It combines my two favorite foods: chicken and pizza. Not sure why they call it “Marilyn Monroe.”

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, Softened
  • 2 slices Pepperidge Farms Soft Sourdough Bread
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 slices Mozzarella Cheese
  • 5 slices Turkey Pepperoni
  • 5 slices Deli Chicken Meat
  • 3 Tablespoons Pizza Sauce For Dipping

Preparation

Spread butter on one side of each piece of bread and sprinkle with garlic powder. Put one slice of mozzarella cheese on each non-buttered side of bread. Top one side with pepperoni and chicken. Place the remaining slice of bread butter side up on top of the meat, to make a sandwich.

Place butter-side down in heated grill pan. (I used a grill press to press the sandwich down in the pan). Flip and grill the other side of the sandwich until golden brown. Serve with heated pizza sauce.

I get this all the time from Edgar’s and make a version at home, too!

This sandwich KICKS BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s amazing! I feel cheated because I didn’t know it existed before. :-) Totally going into our regular rotation.

Oh my were these wonderful! The garlic powder really sends this over the top. I’d never ever thought of doing something like that before. This was just amazing. Whoever dreamed this up, is a genius! Thanks for posting! It’s a staple now!
