Description

Wonderful hearty dish that my mom always made. The sauce gives this steak a fabulous flavor! Enjoy with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds London Broil
  • ¼ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Pepper
  • ⅓ cups Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 clove Garlic Minced Or Powder
  • 1 whole Bay Leaf

Preparation

Preheat your broiler and line a baking sheet with foil.

Salt and pepper the meat. Using a large skillet over low heat, mix the vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and the bay leaf. Simmer this until the liquid has reduced by half and is a syrupy, about 5 minutes. Discard the bay leaf.

Place your london broil on the baking sheet and cover it with the glaze. Broil the meat 4 inches from the heat about 4 to 5 minutes per side, longer for more done meat.

Place meat on a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice the meat against the grain in thin slices and serve.

Tip: Mom always cracked the oven door open when using the broiler so the meat doesn’t burn.

Great recipe that was easy for me to cook my first London Broil. Yay me! I didn’t think it would turn out as good as it did since it was my first time even using the broil option on my oven. I do wish it had a picture so I could compare how mine turned out to what it is supposed to look like but I survived. The taste was awesome!

Perfect recipe.

Well written and easy to follow.

We had left over meat so I have been throwing it on salads. So yummy!

I served with salad and cous cous.

Wonderful flavor! My husband, who does not normally like balsamic vinegar, enjoyed every bite because the flavor enhances instead of being overwhelming.
