This is an adaptation of a recipe I found in an old Farm & Ranch cookbook given to me by my grandmother. This is one that my husband asks for again and again.
Wash and dry chicken. Score lightly with knife and butterfly if chicken breasts are really thick.
In a glass dish or plastic bag, mix the rest of the ingredients. Reserve 1/4 cup of marinade before adding the chicken. Turn to coat chicken and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Grill over medium-high heat until juices run clear, basting with reserved marinade as desired.
Serve immediately.
