Description

Love Chick-fil-A nuggets? This recipe comes super close to them. And even better, you can have them on Sunday!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CHICKEN:
  • ¾ cups Pickle Juice
  • ¾ cups 2% Milk
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pound Thin Chicken Breasts, Cut Into Chunks
  • FOR THE BREADING:
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • FOR FRYING:
  • ½ cups Peanut Oil
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 1 dash Pepper

Preparation

In a plastic container, whisk together pickle juice, milk, egg and salt. Add in the chunks of chicken breast and let them marinate in the refrigerator for 4 hours.

Once chicken is done marinating, combine all of the ingredients for the breading in a large Ziplock bag. Add chicken chunks to the flour bag and shake until all of the chunks are coated.

Add peanut oil, salt and pepper into a large Dutch oven set over medium-high heat. Let the peanut oil get very hot. Drop chicken chunks into the hot peanut oil and fry for about 2 minutes per side. Remove chicken to a plate covered with a paper towel to drain off the grease. Repeat this process until all the chunks have been cooked.

Serve with your favorite sauce. I’m a ketchup girl, but honey mustard, ranch, or barbeque would work beautifully.

Adapted from Iowa Girl Eats who in turn adapted it from My Name is Snickerdoodle.

Super delicious, with a nice light breading just like Chick-fil-a. Was a hit with the entire family.

Wow! They really do taste like Chick-fil-A! Living in Minnesota, we only get to have Chick-fil-A if taking a trip out of state, so this recipe is a keeper for us.
