Description

Delicious and juicy, this incredibly easy meatloaf has amazing flavor. I used Detzel Pretzel’s Cajun Meatloaf recipe as a proportion guideline for creating this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ whole Green Bell Pepper, Diced Small
  • ½ whole Red Bell Pepper, Diced Small
  • 1 whole Medium To Large Onion, Diced Small
  • 4 whole Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Tablespoons Black Pepper
  • ⅓ cups Jarred Pasta Sauce
  • 1-⅓ pound Ground Beef
  • ⅔ pounds Ground Pork
  • 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • 1 cup Jarred Pasta Sauce
  • ¾ cups Breadcrumbs, Original Or Seasoned

Preparation

Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.

Saute bell peppers, onion, and garlic in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes.

Add salt, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Stir and cook for 2 more minutes.

Add in 1/3 cup pasta sauce, stir to combine, cook 2-3 more minutes. Remove veggie/sauce mix from heat, allow to cool.

In a separate large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, and eggs.

After veggie/sauce mix has cooled, mix in milk. Slowly add breadcrumbs 1/4 cup at a time, until mixture is thick and less wet. Add veggie/sauce mix to meat and combine.

Form a loaf with mixture and place in a shallow baking dish. Cover top with pasta sauce.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 50 minutes.
