Description

A popular Chinese takeout you can make at home

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Water
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Walnut Halves
  • 1 pound Large Prawns/shrimp, Peeled And Deveined
  • 1 whole Egg White
  • ½ cups Cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • ½ Tablespoons Honey
  • ½ Tablespoons Condensed Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • Oil, For Frying

Preparation

1. In a small saucepan, mix water and sugar and bring to a boil. Add walnuts and boil for 2 minutes. When done, remove pan from heat, drain off the water and place walnuts on a baking sheet to dry.

2. Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Put the shrimp in a bowl. Beat the egg white in a small bowl and mix well with the prawns/shrimps. Then coat each prawn/shrimp with a thick layer of cornstarch. Then put shrimp into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove the prawns/shrimps from the pan and drain on paper towels.

3. In a medium sized bowl bowl, stir together mayonnaise, honey, condensed milk and lemon juice. Add shrimp and toss with the mayonnaise mixture. Add walnuts and serve.
