Description

This is a Texas meal if I ever saw one. You could also make this meal into steak tacos.

Ingredients

  • ½ whole White Onion, Diced
  • 1 whole Jalapeno, Diced And Seeded
  • 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 2 whole Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce, Minced
  • 2 whole Beef Steak Tomatoes, Diced And Seeded
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Chipotle Pepper Hot Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Cumin
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • 3 whole Steaks
  • 2 teaspoons Steak Seasoning
  • 2 cups Corn Chips (optional)

Preparation

Chop veggies.

Heat oil in skillet over medium heat and cook onion and peppers until tender. Add tomatoes, chipotle pepper sauce, sugar, chili powder, salt and cumin. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes. Then add cilantro and liquid smoke to the sauce. Remove the skillet from the heat and place sauce in a bowl.

Season steaks with steak seasoning.

Use same skillet that the picante was cooked in to cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side over medium high.

Remove steak from the skillet and serve picante over steaks with corn chips on the side to scoop up the extra salsa!
