Description

A delicious recipe for a creamy, homemade mac and cheese.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Rotini Or Small Pasta
  • ¼ cups Unsalted Butter
  • ¼ cups Flour
  • 2-½ cups 2% Or Whole Milk
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ ounces, weight Grated Cheese--cheddar, Mozzarella, Or Colby Jack

Preparation

Cook pasta according to package directions.

While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add in the flour and whisk until smooth. Continue whisking for 1 minute. Slowly add the milk and next 3 ingredients. Constantly whisk for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

Remove from heat and add the cheese. Stir until cheese is fully mixed in.

Drain the pasta and add it to the cheese mixture. Mix so the pasta is covered in the sauce. Serve immediately.

Sounds great, but I think it’s supposed to be 12 oz of cheese (as opposed to 12 grams) :o)

Yay for Mac & Cheese!

I used 12 oz of cheddar since 12 grams threw me for a loop! This was creamy and delicious! My three year old and I polished off two bowls! :)
