I tried your recipe tonight and it was totally Terrific! Super easy and quick! I was in such a hurry I even used canned chicken breast. My husband & I both loved it. Thank you. I will make this again & again & again——:)

So delicious and easy. I added a tsp of oregano and a tsp of thyme to the dumpling dough, and then added some ground pepper to the soup at the end… turned out fantastic! Thanks!

So yummy, and so simple! I mad an entire batch for dinner for the hubby and I. He LOVED it, and I had leftovers for the rest for the week! Everyone at work wanted to try it, and they all loved it, too! To keep this quick on a weeknight I pick up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and use store bought chicken stock. I made the dumplings while the stock warmed up, and hubby shredded the chicken. I had delicious, warming and comforting dinner on the table in 30 minutes. Absolutely a keeper! Perfect for these Chicago winter nights

Very good and easy to make. My husband and teenage daughters ate every bit. No leftovers tonight.

I took many liberties with your recipe, and it was still delicious. I used frozen dumplings, canned broth, and a rotesseri chicken. Your recipe is the way my mom made it, and rolling the dough was just too intimidating for me.

This was very easy, and tasted really good. I used one of those Knorr condensed stocks for the broth, and seasoned some chicken tenderloins with herbs de province. Overall, tasted great, but the broth wasn’t as thick & creamy as I would have liked. I’ve screwed up enough soups in my life, so I was afraid to do much more to it. Still ate & enjoyed!

My grandma actually called this dish Chicken Pastry and it is FABULOUS. I’d been looking for a recipe for ages and, when I saw the picture, knew I had to make it. I’ve used both cooked chicken breast and rotisserie chicken…it’s yummy either way. This is a weekly “must-have” in our house.

I’ve made this recipe twice and just love it! This is total comfort food. I found that keeping the broth at a moderate, not crazy, boil keeps the dumplings from lumping up or sticking. What a great dinner for a chilly night – thanks!!

I am going to have to try this version. I have always made a gravy with butter, flour and chicken stock firt then adden the dumpling. It is far healthier to let the flour just thicken up the stock.
We have been “off” dumplings since my husband cholesterol came back 247!!!! I’ll try this version this week.
I also add frozen peas at the end for just a little something extra.

I tried this over the weekend. Unfortunately the dumplin’s didn’t cook long enough before I put in the chicken, and were still too doughy. But overall the taste was great and I plan to try it again and let the dumplins’ cook longer before adding the chicken. Thanks for sharing!

I just made this, wasn’t too difficult. I usually buy the frozen dumplings. I did add a very small amount of butter to the gravy. Tastes really good, thanks.

This was a really yummy dish to make. Very easy and loved how the dumplings where thin squares rather than big fat drops!! Great, will make again!!

Like several other commenters have said, I was looking for a chicken and dumplings recipe that would live up to my memories as a child. This one is both easy and tasty! I really like the thin dumplings and the clear instructions on how to make them. I did add 1/2 tsp. of poultry seasoning and some pepper to the broth as well as a chopped carrot prior to dropping in the dumplings. My kids loved the end result as much as I did.
