A perfect surf and turf burger with just the right amount of spice. A patty that contains cheddar cheese and spicy Sriracha sauce is topped with fried calamari. It’s really good.

As a new mom this dish is on our dinner rotation once every other week or so. But you don’t have to be a new mom to enjoy how simple it is!
Meredith is a Texas ranch girl who transitioned from a graphic designer to a full-time stay-at-home mom and full-fledged blogger. Her blog In Sock Monkey Slippers is full of mouthwatering recipes and beautiful photographs. Her daughter Mia, aka "feisty little bear," is the inspiration behind her blog. Go see her recipe box and try to resist dreaming about all the food you see there. (It just ain't possible.)
Ever wondered why Brenda calls her blog A Farmgirl's Dabbles? You guessed it: She was raised on a farm. This South Dakota girl combines the traditions of her mom and grandma with modern food ideas, and every recipe she shares is approved by her husband and two girls. Her photography is amazing, too, as is her creativity in the kitchen. Go check out her recipe box and see for yourself!

Hi there – I had a dish similar to this in Australia and it was called “Jumbuck in a Tucker Bag”. It was absolutely, positively delicious!
I make this too with leftover chicken or veal and veggies.
Tastes awesome!
Thanks for reminding me of such a wonderful meal I had in Mount Gambier, SA.
You have great recipes.
How come you went to HK 35+ times? You must have the BEST job ever. I’ve always wanted to go there at least once in my life, never mind 35+!!!!!
Cheers.

Jumbuck in a Tucker Bag?! That’s a cool name! I wish I had thought of that. In fact, I’m running a poll on my blog right now because I can’t decide on a permanent name. I haven’t tried this dish yet with chicken but I”ll be it would be great.
I am in charge of International Admissions at a large university. I have to travel a lot to different countries. It was exciting going to HK the first 10 or so times. After that, the newness had worn off. Traveling for weeks at a time is a killer! I always enjoy the food though!

These remind me of a recipe we did in girl scouts, we called it the ” Hobo Burger”…only this one looks like it’s for grown up scouts! Our recipe was a burger, onion slices, Carrot slices, potato slices seasoning and all piled up on a square of Alum. foil, tied like a bundle and popped in our camp fire. This new version looks just Yummy and I can not wait to try them!
