Description

OK, so I am not much of a hotdog eater, but I gotta tell you, these are fantastic (and SO much fun at a weiner roast). Give it a shot, you’ll love it!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE ASSEMBLY:
  • 8 whole Hotdogs, Grilled
  • 8 whole Hotdog Buns, Buttered And Toasted Before Serving
  • 1 whole Sweet Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 10 ounces, weight Cole Slaw, The Finer The Better! (or Make Your Own)
  • Yellow Mustard, To Taste
  • _____
  • FOR THE CHILI:
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Ketchup, Or More To Achieve The Right Sauce Consistancy
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder, Or More To Taste
  • ½ teaspoons Chili Powder (more If You Like It Spicy)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder, Or More To Taste

Preparation

Chili recipe:
Place ground beef in a saucepan, fill with water, until meat is barely covered. Boil uncovered on medium heat about 25 minutes, or until meat is done and boiled down. (a small amount of liquid should be left) Add ketchup, onion powder, chili powder and garlic salt to taste. It is really a mild, fine chili ” sauce”, so don’t make it too thick. Simmer for a while longer so that the flavors can really cook together.

Grill hotdogs in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until they reach your desired level of brown on the outside. Grill the hotdog buns on the same pan, with a little butter on the insides if you like.

Serve grilled hotdogs on warm, butter toasted bun, topped with coleslaw, mustard, onions and warm chili sauce on top.

Dig in! They are delish!!!!
