Description

Bavarian comfort food at its best. I’ve made this dish for years, exactly how my grandpa always made it! Easy, cheap, quick and just perfect! For more German dishes check out my blog!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Potatoes, Medium-sized
  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Brown Gravy, Store Bought
  • ⅔ cups Peas, Frozen
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream

Preparation

Peel and slice your potatoes, cook them until soft in a pot of boiling water for about 20 minutes. Make sure to test them with a fork as you go; when done they will be tender.

Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over high heat. add onions and ground beef and cook until meat is browned. Add gravy, peas, garlic, salt and pepper. Turn heat down to medium and let simmer for 2 minutes.

Add cooked potato slices and heavy cream. Cook until sauce is completely thickened up and covers all of the beef and potatoes. Serve with a bottle of beer.
