Yum! This was great and my husband devoured it! I would like it to be a bit sweeter like General Tso’s but overall a great and delicious dish!

Well worth the effort. I thought it was better than the General Chicken we get from our local Chinese place. I couldn’t find the chile garlic sauce so instead subbed with Sweet Chili Sauce and then added some Siracha hot sauce in and it was PERFECT. Great recipe, thanks!

Made this last night and LOVED it! My only problem was the first step with sauce to coat the chicken. just wasn’t enough liquid to offset the cornstarch so added more soy sauce. Next time I will cut back on corn starch and add in smaller increments. Topped it with sesame seeds for a little extra flair. I also cooked it in a pan with cooking spray vs frying it, still turned out delish!

Very delicious meal, but definitely took me much longer to prep and cook than indicated. I agree with a previous reviewed that next time I will grill the chicken (the frying resulted in delicious crunchy chicken pieces but also left my kitchen covered in oil and I think grilling would be a healthier (and tidier!) alternative. I also added an extra tsp of chili sauce, which resulted in a nice kick.

Rave reviews and a request for me to make it more often. I used more chicken thighs, an entire package, which I think is more than 1 lb. The cornstarch really tenderized the chicken, had to add more soy sauce to coat all of the pieces. Using the microwave steamer for the broccoli helped cut down on the overall cooking time. Better than take out.

We loved this recipe and the only reason I’m not giving it five mittens is because of the prep work involved. It does take some time. However, that being said, I will be making this again soon. It was delicious!

I’m host mom to a teenage boy from Thailand. I made this in an attempt to make something he might enjoy. He loved it and ate two huge plates full. I did think the sauce was missing something so I added 1/3-1/2 cup of orange juice. Next time I will do 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 oj.

Mmm…adding orane juice to the sauce sounds like a great idea!
i made this a couple weeks ago and found the chicken breading wasn’t as crispy as I had hoped and the sauce was thin. Made it again tonight because i thought the sauce was delicious regardless and am pretty sure i left out the corn starch last time because it thickened perfectly! Chicken still wasn’t as crispy as what I usually like for general tso’s so i might try a different breading next time, but still delicious!!!

Recipe looked great in theory but I would change a few things if I make it again – more spice, deeper oil and larger pieces of chicken to speed things up if I make it again.

I can’t wait to try this recipe. General Tso’s chicken is the ONLY thing my boyfriend ever orders when we call in chinese! It looks delish.

Made this last night and it was VERY yummy! although I must have done something wrong in the first step to coat the chicken, mine was way to thick/dry and had to add more soy sauce to be able to coat the chicken
