Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside. To cook the broccoli, bring 1 inch of water to a boil in a sauce pan. Place in broccoli and cover to let steam for 5-6 minutes. Frozen packages of broccoli also work well for this since it can be ready in minutes.
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan on medium heat. Add in garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute. Add in broccoli and allow to cook for an additional 2 minutes. Toss in cooked/drained pasta and scoop in butter. Sprinkle on black pepper and allow butter to melt. Give pasta a final toss and remove from heat.
Transfer to a serving dish and drizzle on remaining olive oil. Enjoy!
