Garlic flavored king crab legs—what else is there to say?
Note: unless you live in Alaska, and have direct access to the fresh crab legs, the ones you buy in the store are going to be precooked. (A red color on the shell means it is already cooked.) So, they really only need to be heated through and flavored, if necessary. This is one slick way to flavor them.
Get a large pot and fill it with hot water, leaving room for the crab later. (About half usually works pretty well.) Add oil and bring to a boil. While you wait for that to boil, crush the garlic cloves (unpeeled). Once it’s boiling, add the garlic, parsley and Old Bay. Boil for 15 minutes or so.
While it’s boiling, prep your crab. You’ll need to break them into sections that will fit easily in the pot, and then poke some holes in the shells with an ice pick so the flavors can seep in. Slip the crab gently into the pot, and return to a boil for 5 minutes or so. Drain the crab legs, and divide, if you so desire. I know it says for 2, but around here, they could easily be taken down by 1.
Serve with melted butter and/or lemon juice.
