Description

A fresh tuna cake that is super easy and very quick to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Fresh Ahi Tuna
  • 1  Fresh Lime, Cut Into Wedges
  • 1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1  Egg
  • 3 sprigs Cilantro (or To Taste)
  • ½ cups Crushed Crackers We Used Club Crackers
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • ½ cups Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cups Store Bought Cocktail Sauce

Preparation

Dice tuna into 1/4 inch pieces and place into a mixing bowl. Squeeze juice from a wedge of lime onto tuna. Salt and pepper to taste and add Old Bay seasoning.

In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg, add it into the tuna mixture and combine. Chop cilantro and add to taste. Combine cracker crumbs with egg and tuna. It will look wet but that’s OK. It will firm up as it sets. Cover and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.

Heat a saute pan over medium heat and add olive oil.

Divide tuna mixture into 3 equal parts, forming each into a ball and lightly smashing to make them flat. Add them into the pan in an even layer. Saute for 2 minutes over medium heat, turn over and heat an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Serve with fresh lime and garnish with tuna sauce(recipe below)

For the sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and cocktail sauce and add juice from a lime wedge. Serve on top of tuna cake.
