Description

All this needs is Jim Lahey’s bread dough, your favorite toppings, and a hot oven. Great for holidays or lazy days.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All Purpose Organic Flour
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Yeast
  • 1-½ cup Warm Water
  • 2  Tomatoes
  • 10  Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Sieved Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Grated Cheese
  • ½  Bell Pepper, Sliced Into Strips
  • 10  Mushrooms, Chopped Small
  • 4 slices Bacon, Chopped Small
  • 6 slices Salami Sopressa
  • 1  Scallion, Thinly Sliced

Preparation

Combine flour, salt and yeast in a bowl. Stir so salt and yeast are evenly distributed before adding the warm water. Stir with at wooden spoon or your hands until a consistent dough is formed.

Wrap plastic foil around the bowl and cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel. Set aside for 12 to 24 hours to let the dough rise.

Slice all the tomatoes and cherry tomatoes in small pieces and cook in a hot pan. Add sieved tomatoes and keep stiring until all tomatoes have softened and turned into a sauce.

Place parchment paper in a pan. Slide dough into the pan and use your hands to press into a pizza shape. Spread tomato sauce on the pizza. Add some of the cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms, bacon, salami sopressa, scallion and remaining cheese.

Preheat oven to 450℉ and bake pizza for 25 minutes or until all cheese has melted and pizza has doubled in volume.
